Alument Industries specializes in the manufacture of heavy aluminium profile extrusions for applications demanding large cross-sections, thick walls, and high structural load-bearing capacity. Our heavy extrusion capability covers profiles with circumscribing circle diameters up to 300mm and wall thicknesses up to 15mm, produced on high-tonnage extrusion presses (up to 3000 tonnes) to ensure complete die fill and consistent material properties. Heavy aluminium extrusions from Alument Industries are produced from 6061-T6 and 6082-T6 alloys that deliver yield strengths exceeding 240 MPa, making them suitable for structural applications where steel was traditionally the only option. The significant weight savings (aluminium is approximately one-third the density of steel) combined with inherent corrosion resistance make heavy aluminium extrusions the preferred choice for transport, marine, defense, and infrastructure projects. Our engineering team works closely with customers to optimize heavy profile cross-sections for maximum structural performance at minimum weight. We provide finite element analysis (FEA) support, prototype development, and comprehensive mechanical testing including tensile, hardness, and fatigue testing to validate that each profile meets the specified performance requirements.
